Thinking of going to grooming school but will I have time for dog shows?

I’m thinking about going to school for dog/pet grooming, but I also want to continue in the sport of dogs (showing in conformation). I know that the busiest times for groomers is on the weekends (that’s also when most shows are). How would I balance work/showing? I’d like to hear from pro groomers who also show/handle their dogs.
