5 month old Sun Conure Jupiter loves taking showers. He gets very excited when he thinks it’s shower time. As an adult, he dunks himself under the water until he is completely wet and spreads his wings to enjoy the experience, it’s so funny to watch. Here’s video of him as a youngster having a ball.

Lol…my conure does this too.. only when it’s MY turn to take a shower though…guh.

hah, yeah sonny shes loves the shower … better close the door cause if she hears the shower running she flies in and ready to bathe with you.
How friendly they are depends on how you treat it. You should get a hand-fed bird and you have to spend a lot of time with them. Sun Conures can be extremely loud as well.
We have the same perch, but it doesn’t stay up in the shower very well.
your bird is amazing! I’ve been trying to decide what kind of bird would be right for me (even though my mom doesnt know i want one yet) and sun conures seem really sweet.Are they hard to train/tame? and are they friendly???
sooo cute! I wish Kiwi would get a shower. He takes baths in his water dish. I tried the shower thing and he freaks out and tries to fly away and you know they can’t fly with wet wings. that’s awesome. youre lucky he likes showers.

Jupiter always loved water – he does this naturally. Every conure is different but generally they enjoy water very much. Jupiter loves cool water versus warm we learned just through experimentation. I suggest experimenting with your sun and see how he responds, if he is scared at first, don’t push him, let him teach you what he loves and then go from there. Try perching him on your finger in the shower and see if he dives right under the water – he may surprise you. Good luck.

My shower perch isn’t as good as that one. Mine falls off sometimes.

I found this perch at PetsMart just a few weeks ago for about 20 bucks. Works great and you can use it in the car too.
That is such a cool shower perch. I would have never thought! My Patagonian Conure(Ozzy Girl) ALWAYS has to take a shower with me. This would be perfect!
