Smokey’s 1st owner was a one legged pirate so Smokey chewed off his own right leg to show solidarity . Smokey always sat on his pirates left shoulder, and to stand up straight, he just kind of leaned against his pirates head. Later, he got pissed and pecked out the pirates eye.
