The vet prescribed medications and put her on a prescription diet and told us no treats for her at all. He made it sound like it would never go away. I am planning to get a second opinion but I was wondering if anyone else had this same experience.

My cat had that.. just keep using the right kind of cat food and do what your vet says. The Vet’s trying to help so that the crystals won’t come back.. it’s not that they will never go away.
It sounds like she’s having bladder stones, which in that case it will go away. My grandmother’s dog just had surgery to remove bladder stones and now she’s free of them, but they can come back; so she’s been told to keep the dog away from treats and especially people food.
