This hip hound is a speaker system for your music player. He grooves to your tunes and shows his emotions with bright LED lights. Just plug him in and press his nose to get him started. Watch as he bobs his head and taps his paw to the beat. A switch under his chin allows him to be turned from “try me” mode to “listening. ” Little rubber paw pads on the bottom of his feet add a cute touch and help keep him in place. This toy comes with three AA batteries, a cable, and instruction booklet. Disco Dog Not only does I-Dog Amp’d have a taste for music, he needs to be taken care of like a real pup. When I-Dog is ecstatic, happy, or even sick his dancing light patterns let you know. Music is like kibble to this pooch and when he needs more, he’ll bark occasionally. The faster the lights blink and the more he whines or barks, the more music he needs. But he doesn’t have to be hooked up to a musical device to be “fed”; he can hear through his built-in microphone. Place I-Dog Amp’d near a music speaker with the volume at a high level and watch him react! If music is not played for a while, I-Dog goes into hangout mode. Play Test After a grueling testing process, I-Dog Amp’d came out a champion. This toy has all the latest technology and a cool, compact design. When he’s not moving to the sounds of your music, the pup acts just like a real pet. Although he is a doggone-good dancer, his motorized moves are a little loud and work best on a smooth, hard surface. However, you can easily shut these off and just listen to the music play. Our testers were transfixed by the dancing LED lights, moving ears, and rhythmic paw taps. The speaker system isn’t especially powerful, but you can use his volume-control tail to “amp” it up a little. And although the I-Dog doesn’t download or store music, it can be used with almost any music player (not included). A great size for children, this portable pup fits just about anywhere.
