Goldfish (they’re actually river carp) can live tremendously long lives. They are often thought of as a “throwaway” pet because they typically last only 6 to 12 months in the home. Why is this? Improper care.
The ratio is actually about 10 gallons of water per goldfish. A filtration system and oxygenator (a bubbler) is necessary, too.
Do these things (and feed/clean it properly) and your fish will last you a very long time.
Goldfish can’t be mixed with tropical fish, so abandon that thought before you even consider which trop to mix in.

2 fancy goldfish is going to be about it once they are fully grown… you could maybe sneak another in there if you have EXCELLENT filtration (like a fluval fx2 or 505)
goldfish can live for upto and beyond 20 years… she was sayin that people usually take such crappy care of them (ie putting them in bowls, etc) that they generally only live a few months
Bruce was the oldest goldifsh on record, he died at 43

Good choice with the bubble eyed goldfish those are so cute!
You should get one more plus 3 snails.
Or you could put a few minnows in there, sorry their aren’t many good coldwater fish types :(
But if I had a 30 Gallon fish tank, I would get a heater, like 13 Cardinal Tetras, 5 Sunset Platies, and a few snails.
    OR
I would make it a Blue Crayfish tank and get 2 or 3 Blue Crayfish and put minnows in their tank for them to snack on.http://media.photobucket.com/image/blue%…

Only goldfish and koi can live with other goldfish. Do not get a koi becouse they will grow to large for the tank. Also, 1 goldfish needs about 10 gallons to itself due to there messy nature. You can probably add 1 more goldfish. I would not recommend getting more then one more!
    I hope this helps!

  5. Daniel says:

No fish other than Sailfin Catfish (Plecos) can survive with goldfish
by the way. your bubble eye with Fancy gold fish gotta go
bubble eye should only be among their own breed
they cant even be with a pleco and require special care
if you get rid of the bubble eye
you can fit 2 fancy goldfish though.

  6. Info2me says:

no more goldfish. even having two of them is pushing it a little. it is a myth that goldfish can only survive in cold water. the truth is that they can SURVIVE colder water but they’re fine with anywhere from 60-80 degrees so i wouldn’t get much more except maybe a few danios

You could add a few White mountain minnows but NO koi fish what so ever they live in ponds. and or another fancy goldfish but have an excellent filter.

  9. Tommy says:

The general rule not more than 1 fish per gallon of water.
gold fish are plant eaters and will live with most other fish.

  10. Bill C says:

    20 gold fish
