Long time ago, my Grandfather had a stroke. As a sugeon, he could no longer perform surgery. C.G. Conn was his neighbor next door and gave him 11 organs to pick from to help with rehabilitation. He chose the B3 which is sitting in my garage with 2 Leslies. I play bass so I don’t have to haul it to gigs:)

fucking SWEET – paulie shaffer ROCKS!!!
go doctor go!!!

LOL! Paulie tried to take it to church when he opened up the organ towards the end of his solo.
*take it to church = in the black pentecostal churches that means pulling out the drawbars and making the organ shout….LMBO!

PAULIE!!!

Tragically un-hip, sadly.

You know, I love Paul Shafer and all, but he’s really not very hip.
11/28/2009 at 7:46 am
The whole planet can’t be hip amazingeddie, so you got cool folk and you got lame asses and hopefully they got schooled up on something cool and what’s more cool than a B3 with the tube amps fully soaked and powering up the Lesslies?
11/28/2009 at 7:59 am
Its called firing up the audience…. because it wasn’t a Jazz club and half the lame asses in the audience probably had no idea who those guys were… Schaeffer showed that Jazz organ music is fun and exciting and he also let people know who Dr. Lonnie and Doug Riley are…

I was the recording engineer on this gig. It was for Paul Shaffer’s induction into Canada’s Walk of Fame 2006. This was live nationwide tv, no remixing. Four hammonds, four leslies with three mics on each leslie. (Left and right top, mono bottom). People complaining about Shaffer talking don’t seem to realize that’s his schtick. I’ve worked with him a few times, and he’s very professional, and has great respect for his musical idols. Sadly, Doug Riley passed away a couple of years ago.

It was great if that bold man was not asking for attention so much LOL!

Are you people idiots. Schaffer was asked to put this together and be an MC of sorts. He delivered the goods. So shut up and listen and enjoy and quit being armchair critics of those much more talented than yourself.

Where’s John Medeski?

It is still a great representation of the instrument and the artists. Loved that video.

The guys obnoxious but that’s the life if you’re an entertainer. You have to learn the gift of gab, etc. Everybody wants their moneys worth. Can’t deny your audience.
Better him than me.
