ah yes forgot about them too. :D

  2. AboutDogTraining3

You are not a dog, pretending you are is foolish.

  3. Be a pack leader and do what the mother did

  4. Just like bulldogs – Insert your finger inside the lower back upper jaw and squeeze a bit

  5. CowsAndCrows

the dog was there when hurricane katrina was there.. the dog developed this fear of loud noises, fireworks.. gongs etc.. anything would set him off.. like an arachnophobe scared of spiders.. throw a spider at them and watch the heart race. Caeser in a way went back to desentsitising the dog, a bit like what you do to spooky horsess ;)

  6. CowsAndCrows

some dogs are different. 2 pitblls i know of can get rowdy sometimes and a bit rough. the only way to calm them is to pin them essentially against the ground.. theres a gland below the jaw whicch releases a chemical to relax them.. and also shows them ‘you are the boss’ rotties are the same. rottweilers test you. pinning that one against the wall showed him ‘i am the boss.. stop barging into me’

  7. CowsAndCrows

so has Haloperidol but i dont see that used on aggressive dogs :p

  8. CowsAndCrows

im laughing at the replies here!!! firstly acupuncture if you knew the truth uses not ONLY needles to release those endorphins.. read up about it and you will see chemicals are put on the tip. a pill or a jab will do just the same. Dogs are all different.. rotwieller shoving is showing dominace.. pinning a fight dog down shows you are th eboss.. HAS ANYONE BEEN WATCHING CAESAR MILAN FFS. try acupunture on my pit bull.. you will not have an arm !

Didn’t hurt him? I’m sorry if I mis-read, but didn’t you say you threw him up against a wall? That’s bound to hurt a bit. And he wasn’t yours? Gawd, if I was his owner, and I found you did that, I would be outraged. You really had no right to do so. Ok, so, let’s say I want a cookie, but you have the packet. I reach for a cookie and you bite me. Do I throw you up against a wall? No, even if I wanted, I have to control my anger. We are not above animals, we are animals.

  10. No seriously.. I dont have to research that.

And te dog was testing me to see if he could take me on. When he realised he couldnt, he respected me. Took me 2 seconds rather than spending time to earn his trust. He was put in his place without hurting him or even using a word. I rarely speak to dogs when I train them. I make them think themselves. Very big and strong dog.. The owners eventually had him put down because they couldnt control him. My dogs arent like that.

  11. RandomIsTheWord

And I hate to burst your bubble but Aroma Therapy on horses and donkey’s actually works sometimes. If you let a horse smell lavender, for example, it can calm them. I think you should probably research all of that before stating it as false.

  12. RandomIsTheWord

I think it was unessecary to throw the dog up against a wall, that’s taking it a step to far. There are many other ways to control a dog, which involve earning their trust. I’m guessing that dog doesn’t trust you, buy is afraid of you. I know I’d hate a relationship with my dogs that is built on fear. I earn their trust, and it works. I’m pretty sure accupuncture works, as I know it works on horses and humans, so why not dogs? Can you give me a reason why it won’t work?

  13. shinocicada

IF the dog is “confident and they know they’re safe.”

Try to hug an angry/scared dog that doesn’t feel comfortable around you and see where you’ll get.

Besides, throwing the dog against the wall was, in a way being dominant but for the most part, agressive. And as you said, wrong.

What makes you think acupuncture has a different effect on a dog than it does on a human?

    I didn’t attack you, don’t attack me.

  14. oh dear.. dont we know everything. Ive only owned oh… probably 100 dogs in my time and not one of them has turned out bad. Asserting dominance my arse. I once threw a rotweiler into a wall.. that sounds wrong aswell but he was physically pushing me to test my limits. And boom.. there was the limit. He didnt do that again in a hurry. He didnt mind a hug after that. Im merely saying that acupuncture on a dog is as useful as aroma therapy on a donkey.

  15. shinocicada

To Janusha: Hugging a scared and submissive dog isn’t a good idea. Dogs aren’t humans. When you hug them, you’re getting into their personal space and actually asserting dominance. :3

IF they’re confident and know they’re safe its great, but in this case, it isn’t.

  16. lol @ “c’mon Gavin this is for you” (referring to the female dog)

  17. livinintraffic

They perform acupuncture in the Elmwood County Jail in Silicon Valley. At least they did in
    2001 ;)

  18. fatsomamacheese

accupuncture isn’t a placebo effect. It may be for some people, but it has medically proven benefits.

Do you know what endorphins are?

  19. fatsomamacheese

You don’t understand, accupuncture causes tiny points of pain that causes your body to release endorphins. This is what relaxes you, it’s a natural response.

It’s the same reason people get addicted to working out (gym rats). You work out enough that your body releases chemicals that cause a type of “high”.

There is nothing magical about it, just disregard the candles and insence.

  20. Medically proven huh.. yeah lets not question that then. Woodoo works too. Its been magically proven.

  21. Accupuncture has been medically proven to increase relaxation.

  22. I could list a number of more or less insane things people do to their dogs. When it comes to accupuncture, for humans, you get pampered and taken care of and they tell you soothing things, burn insence and its all very relaxing and spiritual.. Even ritualistic experience. A dog can benefit from the relaxing bit but the rest… are concepts that a dog really doesnt give a crap about. Needles do NOT hit magical spots and make you feel or behave differently regardless of what people will tell you.

  23. cesar rules!!!

    love this show amazing

    5/5

  24. That´s what I thought too at first as my Vet told me she wanted to do that with my dog. I was like, WTF??? It´s a freakin´ dog!! But…seriously….it helped my dog loads!! She is doing way better then before treatment!!

  25. yeah yeah Ive owned loads of dogs and trained probably 20 of them successfully.. Not trained as in military trained, just made rampant mongrels into pets that will listen and behave… And if you think acupuncture in itself does fuckall to a dog. Then you are very very wrong. Dogs need to belong and know where they are on the ranking. I dont believe in pushing dogs down to show them who is boss either.. My dogs are my friends and they behave accordingly.
