cute like it
adorable my parakeet layed 5 eggs now we r just waiting fior them to hatch
Just want to say, good job with this little one. I hope no one puts you down for this video. Just for the uneducated viewer: assisted hatching under these circumstances is often necessary. Please note that the membrane in this egg was extremely dry and there were no visible veins. That not only means the baby was due for hatching, but stuck in the egg, as a dried membrane will constrict a chick’s movements, making independent hatching impossible. Great video.
no dont touch the eggs. unless theyre having trouble hatching because, they have to be kept warm.xx

um I don’t think you should really help it out? But since I saw this vid I guess its okay
im getting a parakeet
So cute!
I want to buy one or two more keets for mine, since one died
but I want them to be from breeders, so they’re use to being handled.
my experience with birds who haven’t been handled in their life wasn’t very good. never again petco, never again…
sorry, that should have said 12 hours….Even so, I guess it is normal for some babies to take longer. But I start to worry!
From my experiences, most do. I will pick up the egg and listen for pipping and pecking the day it is expected to hatch. Almost always I can hear the chick inside the egg!
do all parakeets chirp in the egg before they start pecking through?
it is s cute how he trys to pull his wing out at 3:35!
ok thanks, im so scared i feel like im having the babies.
I give my babies a max of 6 hours start to finish…even that seems long to me sometimes. The mom might not like it. Really it’s not recommended. Wait til the baby has pecked its way through the shell before you help.
how long should i wait to attempt to assist and if i assist would the mom be mad?
it looks like a baby pink T-rex
its pretty cute
Sorry, I don’t own him anymore. I sold him.
can you please send me a picture of the parakeet?
or make a video of him playing
Hi, and thanks for your compliment. When you are wanting birds to breed, it’s best to keep them in their cage. It encourages breeding to keep them in because they are forced to be together. Letting them out to fly is fine but they don’t need to be out all that time necessarily. If you have more than one pair, that will decrease their chances of breeding tho it is definitely still possible. Be sure to have a nest box in the cage for them if you want babies. They can lay elsewhere but box best
awesome do you know for the bird to lay eggs does it have to be in a cage? because i let them out for about 8 hours to fly around the house…..
As long as your hands are clean and you are careful it is fine to hold eggs. I’ve been doing it for years. The baby has grown up and is healthy and happy!
