A Dog’s Unending Loyalty

Ella, a Rottweiler, was in a car crash and scavenged for food on the highway for weeks. Ella was reunited with her family but as Steve Hartman tells us, the story doesn’t end there.

It was good til the end and all i’ll say is thank you cbs for not sugar coating the story and leaving facts out

Nice story, and I’m delighted the dog is okay, but something doesn’t quite add up…

If it were our dog, and she was unaccounted for after the accident, I agree with alSation81: We would have to try to find out what happened to her.

Also, the comment at the end about “medical expenses” does seem a bit gratuitous.

  3. illuminadi says:

Did you all catch that, “Because of the Accident and Medical Expenses”…. etc. This is the United States of America and this man and his family have to be put out of their home because of Medical Bills and this is the richest Country in the world. And the republicans are raising hell to deny people an affordable Public Option for health insurance. Don’t mean to bring up politics but I’m seeing these stories everywhere, it’s a shame.

I hope that Ella’s owner relinquishes his rights & allows the rescue to rehome her. She has shown this family such devotion & for what? She is repaid by being left at the rescue. She deserves so much more than this family has given her. No apartment in the world is worth giving up your dog for. This is an excuse used by people every day in an attempt to justify giving up their pets. Pets are for life no matter what.

  5. jesgooz says:

As much as I love dogs, Im sure that the family was preoccupied with what they were going through and didnt have time to look, especially if the baby was in the car accident as well. Stop trying to soil a touching story with your cynicism.

  6. alSation81 says:

you are right. I wish there were a law that black-listed people like that from owning a dog again

  7. alSation81 says:

if I was in a car accident and my dog wasn’t accounted for, I would be searching and putting up posters 24/7

    relocated my ass

spare a thought for the millions put down every year

  8. RetroBoyWontDie says:

What a heartwarming story…bittersweet, but I am glad the family survived, and that Ella has a temporary home until they can all be reunited.

That story, right there, is just one of the reasons why America needs a nationalized health service.
Beautiful story, with a sad ending – in a way…..

Im gonna give a big thumbs down to a single payer system. Why not just get rid of protectionist laws like insurance state border laws and Tort reform! That would likely help the consumers. I want to keep the government out of the business of my health!

  19. studape says:

The need for Single Payer Universal healthcare is part of this story. Standup people if we can bomb and kill we can take care of American families.

and yet there is a lot of opposition to Obama introducing the free healthcare system akin to that of the British. It may cost the country a lot, however being able to go to hospital when you need to without worrying if you can afford it must surely outweigh the problems?

What a story. Animals are such loyal and wonderful creatures. I have 6 pets, and I know!
